To wrap up an incredible 2011, we’re bringing you one last release. Just in time for the holidays, these new features will make your Pulse experience more enjoyable with improved browsing and discoverability. There is a lot packed in this release, so let’s get started:

Completely Redesigned Catalog

As we continue to add top publishers to our platform, we wanted to highlight these partners across different categories and make it really easy for you to find them. The old tabs are gone and have been replaced by a beautiful cover flow, that allows you to browse your favorite category by swiping left and right. You can also tap to learn more about the source and, adding it is as easy as pressing the ‘+’ button. 

In this design, we have also introduced an omnipresent “Search” button - which makes it super easy to search for anything that’s on your mind. Love The New Yorker? Just search for it. Want to learn more about startups? Just type “startups” and discover some great blogs. 

Introducing Smart Dock

We are very excited to introduce a new feature called Smart Dock, which learns from your reading patterns and recommends other sources that you may enjoy reading. The more you read, the smarter the dock gets. It’s as easy as that - no login or setup required. On any page, just scroll all the way down - you might just discover that nostalgic photo blog, your favorite social site or perhaps entrepreneurship content to help you launch your own business.

Pro tip: The dock adapts to your own personal content in each page, so recommendations are relevant to the page you’re on.

Simpler, Cleaner Interface

Special care has been taken in this release to simplify the interface and let the content shine. The main goal here was to make the interface as clean as possible, letting the content take center stage. Click on a story to discover a much cleaner reading view - making it even easier to catch up on all your favorite content in minutes.

We have another special treat with this update including new sources from MSNBC and TODAY, now in the Pulse Catalog! The new update is live on iPhone, iPad and Android. Let us know how you like it!
