Your News Everywhere: Introducing Pulse Sync

Pulse is a service that goes with you wherever you are – from home to the office, on the train or in a cab. Pulse is available on more platforms than any other reader and we’ve seen that our users are taking advantage of this by using Pulse on multiple devices. For a long time, our most requested feature has been the ability to save your sources across devices. Today we’re pleased to announce a new cross-platform, cross-device syncing feature that makes it easy for you to enjoy a consistent Pulse experience no matter where you are, and no matter what device you’re using. We are particularly excited to launch it simultaneously on iPad, iPhone, Android phones and Android tablets.

A few months ago, we gave you the ability to create a personal account so you can bookmark a story on a device or browser and read it later on your iPad, iPhone or any Pulse-enabled device. All the stories you have saved are automatically synced to your Pulse account in a personal archive.

Now with this release, we’ve gone one step further, allowing you to sync your sources across devices as well. So when your shiny new iPhone 4S arrives, the Pulse sources you have come to know and love will easily transfer to your new device. The next time you add a new source to your Pulse account, that source will sync to all the devices you have Pulse on, making it easier than ever to keep up with the news no matter where you are.

Here’s how to start syncing:

For simplicity, we’ll show you how to start syncing on iPhone, but this applies across the board – on iPad, Android phones and Android tablets.

If you are logged in to your Pulse account when you download the new update, you will see this simple tutorial:

When you click continue, it will sync all your sources to your Pulse account in just a couple of seconds. In case you already have an account, it will give you the option to pull in all your sources, also telling you the number of sources you already have. Press okay and voila! All your sources show up on your device.

In case you do not have an account, you can click on the “.me” icon and create an account. Creating an account is incredibly easy – either connect via facebook or create an account with your own email address.

Also, at any time you can go to the “Accounts” tab and manage all your settings, including the ability to enable or disable sync in just one tap.

Download the latest update for iPad, iPhone and Android today.

We are dedicated to making Pulse beautiful and efficient and this is another step that we hope will improve your experience. As always, let us know what you think and happy syncing!
